Welcome to Beacon

Beacon is the open-source trace and reviewed-memory layer for AI agents. It was designed and built by the founders of Asymptote Labs. It captures agent activity across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, and 20+ other harnesses, creating a shared history of how agents work across local, CI, and cloud environments. Use Beacon to understand agent behavior, debug workflows, and explicitly turn reviewed agent runs into reusable knowledge that compounds across harnesses.

Install Beacon

Install Beacon with Homebrew:

brew trust asymptote-labs/tap
brew tap asymptote-labs/tap
brew install beacon
beacon version

Download BeaconEndpointAgent-<version>-x64.msi from the latest release, then run PowerShell as an administrator:

msiexec /i BeaconEndpointAgent-<version>-x64.msi
& "$env:ProgramFiles\Beacon\bin\beacon.exe" version

Download the .deb or .rpm for your architecture from the latest release:

sudo apt install ./beacon_<version>_linux_amd64.deb
beacon version

sudo dnf install ./beacon_<version>_linux_amd64.rpm
beacon version

Replace amd64 with arm64 on ARM systems. See the Linux install guide for rootless and tarball installation.
